Getting The Kids To Korea

Many of the kids who are involved in this event have never been outside of the Salisbury/Moncton area.  This is a great opportunity for those kids to experience a different culture and to see that there is more out there for them.  My son and husband are going on this trip too.  Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Salisbury Taekwondo is a school of the Chung Won Institute of Taekwondo, based in Salisbury, New Brunswick, Canada.
Nearly 20 Salisbury Taekwondo students are working hard to raise funds to attend the WORLD MULIMPIA competition held in Pyeongchang, South Korea in July of 2015.
The students are training hard and look forward to representing New Brunswick and Canada at this event.
We have been raising funds for our trip for over 18 months now. We're doing well, but any donation is appreciated. All donations will be used to help pay for our trip.
This is a great opportunity for our young students to experience another culture and to teach them about the world around them.
It is our hope that you will help us reach this goal. If you could offer support in some way it would be greatly appreciated.

*Sigh* I lack discipline, that is the truth

I finally figured it out.  I lack the discipline needed to lose the weight I need to lose.  It's too hard, the kids won't eat the veggies when I cook them, hubby is picky, it's too cold out to go for a walk, etc etc.

Well, now I think I've finally figured it out.

With God all things are possible, something my mother always told me.  I've decided that losing weight isn't going to be hard for me anymore.  I'm putting this issue in God's hands once and for all.

Romans 12:1 (NIV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship.

I will be following the blog of www.womenlivingwell.org and doing the 5 Weeks 5 Disciplines 5 Challenges series.

Week 1: Goal - 1 pound a day, 1 hour walk everyday for 5 days.

Here we go!

Shrove Tuesday aka Pancake Day

A little history:

"Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Day and Mardi Gras) is the day preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Shrove Tuesday is observed mainly in English speaking countries, especially Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States but is also observed in the Philippines and Germany. Shrove Tuesday is linked to Easter, so its date changes on an annual basis.

In most traditions the day is known for the eating of pancakes before the start of Lent. Pancakes are eaten as they are made out of the main foods available, sugar, fat, flour and eggs, whose consumption was traditionally restricted during the ritual fasting associated with Lent." ~ Wikipedia

I don't normally observe this day but today I felt compelled to make pancakes for supper.  I'm not too sure why, maybe it was the challenge of finding a new recipe and trying it out.  Anyway, here is what I decided to make.  I got this recipe from the Kraft Canada site.

My pancakes NEVER turn out round.

 Looking good!

This is how I like mine!

A frozen berry mix from Costco with banana's

Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Pancakes

1/2 C Flour
1 Pkt creamy wheat cereal (enriched with farina) hot cereal (Cream of Wheat)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 egg
1 C milk (I used skim)
2 Tbsp non-hydrogenated margarine, melted

Mix the first 5 ingredients in medium bowl

Whisk egg, milk and margarine until well blended.  Add to dry ingredients; stir just until blended.  Let stand 5 minutes.

Heat large skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium heat.  Ladle scant 1/4 cup of batter into skillet for each pancake; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbles from on tops, then turn over to brown other sides.
